My husband visited the ER on Thursday evening in a blizzard with excruciating pain in his side. There was only two other patients at the time. They were very slow, and very quick to prescribe pain medicine without really having a good grasp on the situation. If they spent more time taking care of their patients, rather than gossiping amongst themselves regarding other patients, perhaps the care might be better. This place is a horrendous!!!

Awful doctors who dont know how to diagnos anything. They will feed you pills and send you on your way. Stop medicating patients and actually find the problem that causing the pain.

I am proud to be a member of Waldo County Hospital medical staff, and trust my colleagues implicitly. I work as a pediatrician at Belfast Pediatrics, an independent practice. I have also had to use the Emergency Room myself on a few occasions and found the care to be excellent and thorough despite very difficult circumstances. The place keeps winning awards for 'best small hospital,' it's a gem of a resource in tiny Belfast.

I have had to take my 95-year-old father to the emergency room twice: the first time a year ago, and the second time three days ago. Both times he got excellent care. Although I have never been an in-patient at the hospital, I have had tests and outpatient procedures there and I once took a class on healthy cooking in the hospital annex. I'm glad to live in a community served by this excellent little hospital!

If I could give this review zero stars I would. The nerve of the Emergency Room staff, to treat a patient who is all alone, in a great deal of pain, to have a nurse come in to where my family member was to tell her that "You're being too loud, everyone can hear you, you need to stop". Whoever that nurse is, deserves to be fired---truly she has no bedside manor. Turns out that my family member had an untreated kidney stone, and the pain was excruciating. My relative didn't let the nurse get away with it, she made sure to tell her that she didn't like the way that nurse was treating her. No one should have to explain themselves when they are in pain and they need assistance. I have called the ER to complain, I also will be filing a formal complaint to make sure that this doesn't continue. This is the reputation that this emergency room has, snooty doctors, rude nurses that don't give a care in the world, and they all act like patients are faking. SHAME ON YOU ALL. I myself have been a patient there as well and they simply don't care about you at all. The events that transpired today in regards to my family member is the last straw. I don't recommend this hospital to ANYONE.
